Ted Pontiflet

The Inspiration behind the Juneteenth Collective

Mr Pontiflet holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the California College of Arts and Crafts, and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Yale University School of Art and Architecture. While at Yale, Pontiflet also studied African American History and Literature and received a grant to produce a photographic study of Ghana, West Africa. Part of this study was aired by ABC-TV 's "Like it is" in New York City. Pontiflet's art is part of the permanent collection of the Anacostia Museum in Washington, D.C., the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the State of New York's private collection at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Building in Harlem. His photography credits include the National Geographic, textbooks, and in the highly acclaimed 1992 publication of Erotique Noir - Black Erotica. The DIAL PRESS published POOCHIE, a children's book in 1977. Among the collectors of Pontiflet's art are: Interior Designer Toni Anderson, Attorney John L.
